The Bane of Nothingness

On many a lazy day, when some hours are spent in the mirage of nothingness, many tendrils of thoughts enter the being, some cancel each other out and others multiply with every blink, at the end of the day, all that is left is wonderment and tiredness, tiredness from being pulled into the convoluted swirl of thoughts, ever expanding, ever thickening...

As the swirl of thoughts becomes denser and denser, one wondersIf the stoic demeanor of the relaxed mind is a sign of contentment or surrender

As the swirl of thoughts becomes denser and denser, one wonders
If the ringing laughter is an indication of a happy heart or an antic of a well-trained actor

As the swirl of thoughts becomes denser and denser, one wonders
If the dream that is the life of your being is just a stubborn retort or is a genuine desire

As the swirl of thoughts becomes denser and denser, one wonders
If the heart brimming over with love is looking for a beloved or is merely craving attention

As the swirl of thoughts becomes denser and denser, one wonders
If the decision is a step in the right direction or a step in the easier direction

And then, just as the swirling being is about to lose its bearings in the wonderment,
Night falls, and finally the being knows one thing for sure, no matter what the Sun will rise again!
